POEM 119: Roof and Rainfall

As if you were the rain I prayed for
after many years of drought.
You came like torrential droplets
slapping my face in sweet harmony with my thirst for you.
You are rain,
and I the roof,
Like a long awaited rainfall
you rushed over me
in the wetness of your love,
